Latincouver, a non-profit that promotes Latin American culture in Vancouver, needed an
app for their annual Carnival del Sol Festival.
Words from the PM:
“Working with international teams is always difficult, especially with time-sensitive
projects like ours. Time differences, the lack of face-to-face meetings to clarify concepts, cultural
misunderstandings can always delay or even derail a project.
Let's put it this way - I have never heard of a fully functional, moderately
complicated application with constantly changing contents delivered from concept to completion within 2
months.
It's an impossible deadline and you guys did it - with 1 day to spare!”
The App was created to manage the pickup for the Vancouver residents and to provide a
bridge between the comunity needs and newest technology to create a flow to better reuse the waste and
to bring an easy way to deal with that problem.
The technology used to build this app was separated in several parts. The
backend/API, the webApp and the two biggest natives mobile platforms (iOS and Android)
My main task on this project was to build the webApp and to help to produce the best
result using a RESTful Api under NodeJS and MongoDB.
